For a small, luxurious wedding set within the breathtaking scenery of the West Coast of Scotland, Barcaldine Castle is the perfect venue for Scottish castle weddings.

We may not have an on-site Wedding Coordinator, but our small team are more than happy to help. We will recommend quality suppliers for your big day. Such as florists, hairdressers, make-up artists, photographers, and cake designers. Furthermore, all legal paperwork for the wedding is organised directly with our local registrar.

Our recommended chefs can offer you a fantastic wedding meal and/or buffet. Alternatively, you may decide to go to one of the many local restaurants we have to offer here in Oban.

Due to the nature of the B&B business, we require 2 night minimum stay Exclusive Use for all weddings from April to October and between 20th December and 5th January. This ensures your day runs smoothly and all of our attention is focused on making your day that extra bit special.

From November to March (excluding 20th December to 5th January) we can offer hire of the Great Hall for 2-3 hours for a wedding ceremony, photography and drinks/canapes reception for up to 36 guests. Rates from £700 to £1800. The castle can also be hired for exclusive use during this period but it is not a requirement.

We normally host our wedding ceremonies in the splendour of the Great Hall, with a large open fireplace and breathtaking views out across Loch Creran and up to Glencoe. Make no mistake, we guarantee you an especially romantic backdrop for your special day. If the weather permits, you may wish to have your ceremony out in the gardens, with the castle featuring as a glorious backdrop.

We took lively strolls to the lake, pet farm animals, totally relaxed and felt at peace. We only spent 2 nights but we will be back for a whole week to explore all of Oban and the islands. The service from Patrick and Cecilia was 5 star: Cecilia makes an amazing breakfast. This was my absolute favorite place we stayed in our 16 day trip to Scotland.

On Saturday the 11th, my husband and I tied the knot with 35 of our closest friends and family in the cosy great hall. I cannot put into words how fantastic our experience was. From the very first e-mail exchange back in January, Patrick and Caroline have made us feel so special and looked after. They treated us like royalty through-out our stay, welcomed all of our guests with open arms and pulled all the necessary strings to make sure our wedding ran flawlessly while we kicked back and relaxed. I can't fault anything. Food was amazing, rooms were gorgeous and always spotless, service was out of this world. Highly HIGHLY recommended Barcaldine castle to anyone who wants a cosy wedding, or even just a cosy getaway. We hope to make a tradition of coming back for our anniversaries. Cannot wait to see the place and all the gorgeous staff again!
