Yorkshire businessman David Whitehead bought the castle from the Campbell family in 2009.
David lives in Calderdale, West Yorkshire where he runs the family business of H&C Whitehead, a world class textile finisher. He is the father of two sons, with the eldest, Richard, assisting him in both the factory and as the castle bookings manager.
Not afraid of a challenge, David is passionate about old properties, their history and their character. He has invested in improvements, antique furnishings and artwork to enhance the guests’ experience and magnificence of the castle rooms.
His greatest pleasure is in sharing the castle with guests and seeing so many visitors from around the world enjoying the ambience of its amazing history.
