Having your wedding at Barcaldine Castle

Our ceremonies take place in the Great Hall in front of the large, open log fire. However, they can also take place by the sundial outside in the garden. Both options giving you fabulous views of the surrounding area. The tall ceilings and wooden beamed roofs give the castle an atmosphere of charm and character, but what more would you expect from a Scottish castle wedding?

As we currently don’t provide in-house catering or any services of this kind, we pride ourselves on having close relationships with highly recommended suppliers. From caterers to florists to bagpipers, we are more than happy to help you plan and organise everything for your big day, ensuring a perfect Scottish castle wedding with it being everything you hoped it would be and more!

Please note: the maximum number of guests that we can seat for your wedding ceremony is 36 and we can accommodate up to 14, so, if you’re looking for an idyllic dream venue to host your intimate Scottish castle wedding, we could be just what you’re looking for!

We took lively strolls to the lake, pet farm animals, totally relaxed and felt at peace. We only spent 2 nights but we will be back for a whole week to explore all of Oban and the islands. The service from Patrick and Cecilia was 5 star: Cecilia makes an amazing breakfast. This was my absolute favorite place we stayed in our 16 day trip to Scotland.

On Saturday the 11th, my husband and I tied the knot with 35 of our closest friends and family in the cosy great hall. I cannot put into words how fantastic our experience was. From the very first e-mail exchange back in January, Patrick and Caroline have made us feel so special and looked after. They treated us like royalty through-out our stay, welcomed all of our guests with open arms and pulled all the necessary strings to make sure our wedding ran flawlessly while we kicked back and relaxed. I can't fault anything. Food was amazing, rooms were gorgeous and always spotless, service was out of this world. Highly HIGHLY recommended Barcaldine castle to anyone who wants a cosy wedding, or even just a cosy getaway. We hope to make a tradition of coming back for our anniversaries. Cannot wait to see the place and all the gorgeous staff again!

The castle is beyond beautiful and they made so many personal touches that made it feel luxurious but also comforting. Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were clean and cozy.
