Parlour Bar:
Our small residents’ bar is open from 6pm until 8pm nightly and earlier by request. Selling bottles of champagne, wine, a selections of whiskies and other spirits, soft drinks and bottled beer. Payment is as you go, by card only.
During this time, guests are respectfully asked not to drink their own alcohol in the public areas.

Resident guests preferring not to go out to eat can pre-book a grazing board from a local caterer to enjoy in the Great Hall, Laird’s Parlour or out on the patio.
The grazing boards must be ordered direct with Diane, with at least 48 hour notice please. She will deliver to the castle late afternoon. We will refrigerate and serve at a time of your choice between 6pm and 8pm.

*From the Sea Grazing Board*
A fresh, and flavourful selection of seafood, perfect for sharing
Seafood Selection – Sweet chilli hot smoked salmon, Lemon & parsley smoked mackerel, Classic Scottish smoked salmon, Prawns in Marie Rose sauce, Blinis with smoked salmon canapes, Blinis with soft cheese and smoked salmon. Accompaniments – freshly baked ciabatta rolls, mixed leaf salad with cucumber and tomato, lemon wedges and pomegranate seeds for a zesty, fresh finish.
*Cheese Board*
A delicious selection of creamy, rich cheeses paired with sweet and savoury accompaniments
Cheese Selection – Castello Creamy Brie, Applewood smoked cheese, Wensleydale with cranberry and blueberry, Castello creamy blue cheese, Mature Scottish cheddar, Pineapple round. Accompaniments – Island of Arran chutney and cranberry sauce, oatcakes and crackers, fresh leaf salad with balsamic dressing, marinated olives and sun dried tomatoes, fresh ciabatta roll. Served with grapes and pomegranate for a fresh, fruity finish.

A hearty selection of premium cold meats, served with fresh, flavourful accompaniments – perfect for sharing
Meat Selection – Roast beef brisket, seasoned with sea salt and cracked pepper, Applewood smoked ham, Traditional prosciutto (dry cured ham), Spanish chorizo slices, Italian seasoned salami and peppered salami. Accompaniments – Fresh leaf and rocket salad with balsamic dressing, marinated olives and sun-dried tomatoes, ciabatta rolls.
*Mixed Grazing Board*
A delicious mix of quality meats, cheeses and fresh accompaniments – perfect for sharing
Meat selection – Roast beef brisket seasoned with sea salt and cracked black pepper, Traditional prosciutto (dry cured ham), Italian seasoned salami, Spanish chorizo. Cheese selection – Creamy Brie, Mature Scottish Cheddar, Applewood smoked cheese, Wensleydale with cranberry and blueberry. Thank you for the amazing Grazing Boards! We were blessed with incredible weather and were able to ‘graze’ in brilliant sunshine outside at Barcaldine Castle. We expected 2 boards was a lot but we thoroughly enjoyed them and in the end had leftovers to munch on our trip home.

Exclusive use guests are welcome to book a local chef to cook dinner. Please ask for contact information.
During the winter self catering guests have full use of the castle kitchen. In summer exclusive use guests may be able to use the kitchen to cook dinner by arrangement. As our staff use the kitchen to cook breakfast from April to October, the kitchen must be left as you find it please.
